Francois residents have set their date for Come Home Year and have begun fundraising and planning for the weeklong event.
Conveniently planned around the annual Francois Day, many events and activities for the young and old are scheduled to take place, making for an enjoyable week for all ages.
Christine Durnford said that although all the events are not set in stone as of yet, some of the things residents can expect include the official opening, fireworks, variety concerts, talent shows, kid's day and more.
Several events are also regular to Francois Day, with dory races and beauty pageants both for youth and adults.
On April 12, a novelty night was held at the community centre, organized by Elizabeth Neil.
The night included many games such as a turr picking competition, the marshmallow game and a balloon-shaving contest.
The novelty night was just one of many fundraisers the committee has planned for Come Home Year.
Durnford said that quite a few promotional videos have already been sold, with orders in for more, which features photos from around the town with her husband's music in the background.
More fundraisers are to be expected, said Durnford, as they get closer to the dates of the Come Home Year.
