Looks like Corner Brook Mayor Charles Pender will face opposition after all

Up until the final day it looked like current Corner Brook Mayor Charles Pender would walk right into a second term unopposed for the mayor's chair.

Up until the final day it looked like current Corner Brook Mayor Charles Pender would walk right into a second term unopposed for the mayor's chair.

However, it is not to be so as Coun. Neville Greeley is throwing his hat in the ring.

Greeley unsuccessfully challenged for the city's top job in 2005.

In 2005, Pender garnered 2,427 votes, ahead of Neville Greeley who had 2,002 votes and soundly beat incumbent mayor Priscilla Boutcher's 1,935 votes. Mayoral candidate Jeff Sheaves earned 827.
