CORNER BROOK Two women were taken to hospital with what police describe as non-life threatening injuries after the car they were driving rammed into the back of a transport truck coming out of Ladyslipper Road off the Trans-Canada Highway.
Police were still investigating as of 1 p.m. Friday and had traffic down to one lane for about a half hour. They said visibility was clear, but it was a rainy day, so they said it was possible that hydroplaning may have been involved. The car, a mid-2000s Dodge, had a completely crushed front end and the truck sustained seemingly little damage.
The truck driver was unhurt according to police.
Police are advising caution on the highway as rain and possible freezing rain is forecasted.
