Coun. Don Gibbon reads Stephenville budget 2014

STEPHENVILLE  Coun. Don Gibbon, finance committee chairman with the Stephenville town council, said budget 2014 does not contain any changes in tax rates.

The Stephenville budget shows revenues and expenditures of $8,087,158, which is an increase of $325,708 from the 2013 budget.

Gibbon said there was an adjustment made to a mill rate in one business tax category but will not result in additional revenue for the town.

He said revenues generated by property tax are estimated in 2014 to be $2,938,005, which is a slight reduction from the 2013 budget. The town’s municipal operating grant from the province remains consistent at $414,520.
