Beer truck accident

CORNER BROOK  No one was hurt when a beer truck collided with a snowbank on the Lewin Parkway in Corner Brook early Monday afternoon.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the driver of the large truck lost control while trying to negotiate the curved section of the parkway on the overpass above the Humber Road/Main Street intersection.

All westbound traffic on the Lewin Parkway was diverted to Humber Road while the truck was being removed from the snowbank on the overpass.

This particular section of the Lewin Parkway can be hazardous when the road is slippery. It’s at least the second time in the past four days that a vehicle has went off the road and into the snowbank in the same area.

Roads were snow-covered and slippery at the time of this accident.
