Police looking for witnesses to pedestrian accident in Corner Brook

CORNER BROOK  The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Corner Brook is looking for witnesses to a pedestrian/motor vehicle collision on West Valley Road this morning.

At about 8:10 a.m., a 55-year-old woman was struck by a light grey sport utility vehicle while crossing West Valley Road at the intersection of Brookfield Avenue. The woman sustained what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

A male driver, who witnessed the accident, reportedly stopped to offer help. This person may have information valuable to the police investigation.

    this is one of the most dangerous intersections in Corner Brook...there needs to be a traffic light there and crosswalks to help control the flow of traffic and those trying to beat oncoming cars to get to their destinations or just not slowing down period.....it will take a death in this area to prove a point. Why not take the initiative to put a light there before something drastic happens.

      the city should of had a light put there years back.*someone got to get killed there before they put lights there.*its a really bad spot to try to get out *I have seen a lot of near misses there myself*please city put lights there *
