Youth arrested for allegedly breaking into vehicles in Stephenville

STEPHENVILLE  A 15-year-old girl is in police custody after she was caught allegedly entering vehicles illegally in Stephenville overnight.

According to the Bay St. George detachment of the RCMP, the youth was apprehended entering cars in the base area of the town.

Police arrested her after following tracks to and from several vehicles.

According to the RCMP, the girl is charged with two counts of mischief and three counts of breaching a court-ordered undertaking. She is scheduled to appear in court in Stephenville Monday afternoon.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in checking their vehicles for missing items and reporting this to the Bay St. George RCMP by calling 643-2118.

The public is also reminded to lock their vehicles and to remove all valuables from them.
