STEPHENVILLE The 10-year-old girl injured in an accident that occurred on Route 490 near Indian Head on Sunday has been transferred from Corner Brook to St. Johnâ€™s for further treatment.
The girl was a front seat passenger in a car that was being driven by her 49-year-old Stephenville mother when the accident occurred. The two ended up pinned under a tractor-trailer following the accident that was reported around 2 p.m. that day.
The girl was taken to Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Sunday and transferred to the Janeway Childrenâ€™s Hospital in St. Johnâ€™s on Monday because of extensive damage to one of her legs and concern about further complications.
As of Monday evening, her mother was still at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville.
