Members of the Grenfell Campus Student Union and Grenfell Campus Gay-Straight Aliance participated in the Pride flagraising in Corner Brook.

Corner Brook Coun. Keith Cormier joined members of the Grenfell Campus Gay-Straight Aliance and Grenfell Campus Student Union in raising the pride flag at City Hall today.

Similar ceremonies were being held across the province, and country, in a show of support in conjunction with the opening of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community has been up in arms about harsh homophobic policies of Russia. The Grenfell student union has also raised a flag in support of the community, and are boycotting the Olympics on campus.
