Money stolen from unlocked vehicles in Corner Brook overnight

There were two complaints of theft from vehicles off the O’Connell Drive area of Corner Brook overnight.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary reported unlocked vehicles were entered and money stolen between 1-3 a.m. on Cochrane Street and sometime overnight on Callahan’s Road. A pair of sunglasses were also allegedly taken in the latter incident.

Police also reported responding to eight traffic accidents between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday. Corner Brook was experiencing winter weather conditions and road conditions were poor throughout the day.

    Maybe if the city kept the roads more clear, maybe just maybe there would be less accidents. The snow clearing in this place is atrocious. If we get dumped on there's not any snow clearing equipment in sight, if we get an inch you see every plow out on the road. Makes no sense. Something has to be done!!

    Maybe if the town had the roads cleared there wouldn't be so many accidents. The roads in the city are terrible.

    While I hate to blame the victims on something like this, but why in gods name do people leave valuables in cars?? Locked or unlocked, you're just welcoming a loss. I have no sympathy, common sense has to come into play.
