Keegan Mangrove has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a young girl on the Northern Peninsula.

Provincial Court

Represented by his lawyer via teleconference, the 21-year-old Ontario man chose to be tried in Supreme Court by judge alone.

He has been charged with sexual assault andsexual interference for offences involving a girl under the age of 16, alleged to have happened in St. Anthony in late August 2013.

Following his arrest, Mangrove was brought back to Newfoundland and Labrador for photographing and fingerprinting. His release on a recognizance was dependent on the posting of a $5,000 bond.

Mangrove’s case has been set over for a half-day preliminary inquiry on June 11.
