St. George’s man charged with theft from Crossing residence

A 29-year-old St. George’s man has been charged with theft from a residence on Church Street in Stephenville Crossing.

Cpl. John Butler of the Bay St. George RCMP said police received a report from a Stephenville Crossing man at 6:55 p.m. on Thursday who alleged a coat and a wallet containing personal items had been stolen from his residence.

He said the two men were known to each other.

The St. George’s man was later arrested and released on a promise to appear in court on June 16.
