It’s shaping up to be a wet few days leading into the weekend in western Newfoundland.
There is a risk of thundershowers for areas between Port aux Basques and Deer Lake for this afternoon and Friday afternoon. Deer Lake could see thundershowers into the evening as well.
Environment Canada is calling for between five and 10 millimetres of rain to fall today, with as much as 25 millimetres falling in some of the heaviest showers expected to pelt the region.
Showers are expected to continue tonight, though they should end in the Port aux Basques area around midnight. Anywhere from two to 10 more millimetres could fall throughout western Newfoundland tonight.
Around five millimetres of rain are expected Friday.
Temperatures should remain warm at around 20 C throughout the region today, a low of 15 to 16 C tonight and back up to between 20 and 22 C Friday.
