Sophia, 5, and Nathan, 3, stand next to the whale snow sculpture that their dad Kirk Wisman carved into the snowbank near his home on Philip Drive. The sun has melted some of its colour but this was Wisman's first attempt at creating a snow sculpture and it took about three days to complete.

Held during Corner Brook Winter Carnival, the loppet involves teams of skiers doing as many kilometres as they can.
