CORNER BROOK  Mike Hawco’s lone goal was all the Investors’ Group squad to clinch the Corner Brook men’s broomball championship.

The investors eked out a 1-0 victory to complete a three-game sweep of the Western Building Products crew in best-of-five final series Monday night at the Pepsi Centre.

Hawco scored the winner from Leo Blanchard and Todd Warren at 4:07 of the first half.

It was the second straight game in which Hawco recorded the lone marker after the investors edged out the builders 1-0 in last Tuesday’s Game 2.

Adam Tiller also recorded his second straight shutout of the final series, and only allowed one goal against of the course of the three games.

Marc Green suffered the netminding loss on the other end for the builders, who fell 2-1 to the investors in the opener and couldn’t muster enough offence to get back into the series.

Investors Group capped off a winning season that saw them atop the league standings.
