It’s not often a hat trick in soccer amounts to little more than a drop in a bucket, but that was the case with Emily Flynn’s three-goal performance Monday night for the Corner Brook Under-18s.
Flynn, along with seven other scorers, helped the Under-18s to a 14-0 decision over the Hawks in Corner Brook Women’s Soccer League action at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Along with Flynn’s three, Jade Regular, Emma Mugford and Emily Chaisson all put up two goals apiece.
Liz Rowe, Genna Noseworthy, Myla Burt and Regina Calderon scored single markers, while another goal came in the form of an own-goal charged against the Hawks.
The following is a look at what happened in Sunday’s game at Wellington:
Under-18s 4, Stephenville 0
Elizabeth Rowe had a two-goal performance to lead the Corner Brook Under-18s to a 4-0 win over Stephenville Sunday night at Wellington Street Sports Complex.
Regina Calderon and Felicia Park also scored for the winners in the lone Corner Brook Women’s Soccer League contest held Sunday in the city.
The Under-18s lead the league with a 4-0-0 record on the year, followed by the Island Orthotics Curling Rangers at 2-1-0 and Veitch’s Physiotherapy at 1-2-0. The Shamrocks and Stephenville are both sporting 0-1-0 records, while the Hawks fell to 0-2-0.
