Physio girls take down Hawks

A three-goal performance from Janice Rousseau helped Veitch’s Physiotherapy to an 8-1 win against the Shoppers West Hawks in action from the Corner Brook Women’s Soccer League Monday night at Wellington Street Sports Complex.

Janine Gillis (2), Denise Dewling, Vicki Jesso and Julie Hayes also got in on the action for the physio girls.

The name of the Hawks’ goalscorer wasn’t indicated on the scoresheet and was unavailable at press time.

The following is a look at how things unfolded in Sunday’s women’s soccer league games:

Corner Brook Under-18s 7,

Shamrocks 0

Jade Regular scored five times to lead the charge for the Under-18 squad at Ambrose O’Reilly Memorial Field Sunday night.

Ashley Bromley and Felicia Park also scored for the winners.

Island Orthotics Curling Rangers 2,

Stephenville 0

Katie Arnott and Hannah Connolly provided the goals for the Rangers.
