What defines us as being from Newfoundland and Labrador
A true Newfoundlander has one package of Purity crackers and eats salt beef once a day.
Or so I’m told by at least one of my friends.
Two men allegedly involved in a theft from Alteen's Jewellery on Broadway in Corner Brook on May 11 are led into provincial court in the city on Monday morning. Fanika Rostas, left, and Ludovic Sava and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on Saturday.
The three people charged in relation to a theft from Alteen's Jewellery last week were represented by Corner Brook laywer Robby Ash when their matters were called in provincial court on Monday morning.
The two men and a teenage boy were only in the court for a short time before having their matters set over.
Fanika Rostas and Ludovic Sava, both 22 and from Ontario, appeared together before Judge Catherine Allen-Westby.
During their appearance the matter was set over to Monday afternoon to give Ash, who was acting as agent for the three, time to review information he received from the Crown.
Sava is charged with thefts from Telus in Grand Falls-Windsor and Wal-Mart in Mount Pearl.
Rostas is charged with the Wal-Mart theft in Grand Falls-Windsor and the theft from Alteen's in Corner Brook.
The youth, who is from Quebec, appeared separately. He is also charged with the theft from Alteen's and the Grand Falls-Windsor theft from Telus.
His matter was also set over to Monday afternoon.
