Canada Day on Parliament Hill
Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Governor General Michaelle Jean shook hands Wednesday with the crowd as tens of thousands of Canadians - many dressed in red and white - celebrated Canada Day on Parliament Hill.

Ryan Park threw a two-hitter over a complete seven-inning performance as the Corner Market Aces blanked the West Side Monarchs 7-0 on Tuesday night.

INDIAN RIVER – When a blues and rock artist like Matt Andersen visits the Indian River Festival, he’s asked to leave his band and sound person behind.
Andersen performed there last year — his soulful voice filling St. Mary’s Church during an encore that needed no amplification.
“That church carries you,” said festival chair René Hurtubise, who called Andersen’s performance amazing.
