The Crown has withdrawn the charges against a Bay of Island’s man that stemmed from a robbery at Evoy’s Video in Benoit’s Cove in January.
Ronald Smith had been charged with robbery with violence, forcible confinement and disguised with intent.
Smith wasn’t present when the matter was called in provincial court in Corner Brook on Tuesday afternoon.
His lawyer, Sandi MacKinnon, said he was aware of what was going to happen.
Crown attorney Adam Sparkes said after the appearance that after reviewing the file, once the investigation had been completed, his office determined there was no likelihood of conviction on the charges.
