At a regular general meeting on Thursday, he said that on Oct. 17 he will host a meeting with all candidates in the recent Stephenville municipal election to come in and tell the current council what they heard while on the campaign trail.

“While we (sitting council members) heard a lot from residents, we’d like to hear what the other candidates were hearing. We want to be an open and engaging council,” Rose said.

He said plans are also being made to communicate different issues dealing with the town in quarterly or biannual newsletters.

“It’s a change in the way we want to do business by being open,” Rose said.

He said plans are also being made by Coun. Mark Felix, chair of the town’s finance committee, to have budget consultations.
