Corner Brook man charged following night club disturbance

CORNER BROOK  A 20-year-old from Corner Brook, reported to have been carrying a knife, has been charged with assaulting another man.

At about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to an alleged disturbance at a licensed liquor establishment on Main Street.

It was determined a 25-year-old man had been physically assaulted. He was not injured and did not seek medical treatment.

The 20-year-old man was susbsequently arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. He was kept in lock-up overnight, and is expected to appear in provincial court today.
