It’s calling for a beautiful day in most of western Newfoundland today, with a mix of sun and cloud from Port aux Basques in the south to the Daniel’s Harbour area on the Northern Peninsula.

Temperatures will be anywhere from  21 C in the south to 26 C in the Deer Lake area.

Things cool down a little further north with a high of 17 C in Port au Choix to a high of just 14 C in St. Anthony.

The weather is looking fine for today’s byelection in St. George’s-Stephenville East. Cloudy skies early this morning will give way to a mix of sun and cloud as the morning progresses. It will be a bit windy with southwesterly winds of 20 kilometres per hour gusting to 40 kilometres per hour near noon.

The warmth should continue into the evening and tonight with a low of 19 C called for in the Stephenville area tonight.
