Does the fire department need more money?

Published on July 15, 2017

This week, the City of Corner Brook publicly released a report from consultants who reviewed the city’s fire services.

Among the recommendations made by Pomax Consulting to improve fire services were decommissioning the current fire station and opening two new stations in the western and eastern parts of the city at a cost of about $4.4 million, along with establishing a policy to always have no less than 10 firefighters on duty, which would cost more than $925,000 to implement. The total cost to implement all the recommendations is estimated to exceed $10 million.
Question: Do you think the City of Corner Brook should invest more in its fire services?
