Byrne pleads guilty to break-ins at Flynn’s Pub, Main Level Café in Corner Brook

One of the two young men charged with breaking into Flynn’s Pub in Corner Brook in January has pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Philip Seamus Byrne, 18, was arrested earlier this week for breaching court orders and was taken into custody.

During an appearance in provincial court Thursday, Byrne entered guilty pleas to the pub break-in on Broadway along with a break and entry at Main Level Café in the Millbrook Mall in Corner Brook.

The incident at the café took place last Nov. 18.

He also pleaded guilty to a breach of a court order, namely violating the curfew condition he was on in February.

Byrne, who has consented to being remanded in custody, will be back in provincial court for sentencing Wednesday.

The co-accused in the Flynn’s Pub break-in, which happened Jan. 12, has yet to enter a plea on the charges against him. Skyler Luke Daniel Young, 20, will next appear on those charges March 24, the same day he will be sentenced for a theft and three court order breaches he has entered guilty pleas to.
