Parsons will make his intentions known at a noon press conference at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13 on Tuesday.
During the event, he is expected to announce intentions to run for mayor and challenge incumbent Charles Pender for the chair.
A Corner Brook resident, Parsons is active in the arts community and serves as volunteer chairman of the Downtown Business Association.
When announced, Parsons will be the first candidate to publically declare their intent to run for mayor.
Residents across the province go to the polls Sept. 26.
