Council will be bringing forward a motion to terminate the business resource department at its public meeting Monday, according to a press release issued today.
These changes are in keeping with the recommendations of the KPMG organizational and operational review report, said the release. The consultants recommended a restructuring of the centre. The position of business resource centre manager, Mike Jackson, has been terminated.
"This realignment is aimed at refocusing efforts in economic development while avoiding the duplication of services already available from other agencies in the community," Mayor Charles Pender stated in the release.
An update on the review report will be brought forward at Monday's meeting. At that time, council will also be considering a number of other recommendations, according to the release.
