Mark Thompson will remain in custody until a bail hearing can be held to determine if the Corner Brook man will be released.
Thompson was taken into custody on Tuesday after the two sureties, who signed on in July to ensure he complied with his release conditions, asked to be removed.
The 25-year-old is charged with sexual assault of a minor, sexual interference, providing liquor to a minor and eight breaches of a recognizance.
During an appearance in provincial court on Wednesday afternoon the court was told that efforts to come up with a release plan for Thompson had not been successful and a bail hearing would be necessary.
However, that could not be scheduled until arrangements could be made for a witness to appear by video from outside the province.
The matter was set for 3 p.m. today for a status update on the scheduling of the bail hearing.
