The dress of the day was a way for the students to show their support for the children who are patients at the Janeway Children's Hospital in St. John's.

And in the morning the students, teachers and some special guests gathered in the gymnasium to take part in the west coast launch of the 33rd Janeway Children's Miracle Network Telethon.

During the event Robyn and Scott Carroll of Corner Brook shared the story of the time their son Gavin spent at the Janeway Children's Hospital in St. John's.

Gavin, 13 1/2 months, spent a total of 102 days at the hospital following his birth on Jan. 28, 2016, nearly three months earlier than his April 29 due date.

The telethon will take place June 3-4.
