The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is asking for the public’s help in identifying two persons seen on video surveillance in the area of a break and entry at a business on Commercial Street in Corner Brook.

The incident happened at around 4 a.m. Sunday morning when access was gained into a storage warehouse located on the downtown street.

In a police report issued earlier Tuesday morning, the RNC had incorrectly identified the location of the incident as being on Union Street.

The warehouse and some merchandise sustained moderate damage as a result of forced entry into the Commercial Street property. The incident was first reported to police Monday morning and police have yet to determine if anything was taken during the break and entry.

Surveillance video in the area shows two males in their late teens or early 20’s leaving the area on foot in the direction of the Corner Brook Stream Trail system on the east end of Commercial Street.

The Western Star asked for a copy of the surveillance video, but the RNC was not prepared to release it as of press time Tuesday.

The RNC is continuing its investigation and is asking anyone with information regarding this break and entry to contact them at 637-4100 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222 TIPS (8477). Tips can also be provided anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
