STEPHENVILLE, NL – With marijuana legalization looming, the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is partnering with Western Health to launch a 48-hour short-film competition called "Let’s Talk Cannabis."
According to a press release issued April 5, anyone can enter. The idea if for participants to express their opinions on cannabis use and its legalization. The catch is the whole thing has to be done in 48 hours.
On Friday at 6 p.m., teams will be given three clues through the Facebook event page that they will need to include in their short film, which should not exceed 10 minutes in runtime. The clues can be anything from lines of dialogue or props, to specific costumes. The goal is to make sure eager teams stick to the 48-hour window.
All films must be submitted via YouTube with the video link emailed to CNA guidance counsellor Lori Hovey at [email protected], or by a private message to CNA’s Facebook page by Sunday, April 8 at 6 p.m.
Participants can register by filling out an application form on the event’s Facebook page before April 6 at 6 p.m.
The films will be reviewed by a third-party panel, made up of CNA staff, with the screening taking place April 11 at 7 p.m. at the college’s Bay St. George campus. The event will also be livestreamed on Facebook.
