A 30-year-old St. George’s man will appear in court at a later date after he was arrested and issued a seven-day driving suspension for impaired driving and obstruction in the early morning hours on Saturday.
Police said it was about 2:30 a.m. on Remembrance Day that members of the Bay St. George RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Route 403 near Flat Bay.
The driver of the vehicle fled on foot but was apprehended a short distance away.
The man has since been released from custody for his next court appearance and police impounded his vehicle.
