Gillams, Meadows and McIvers got refreshed for spring celebrating local culture and heritage with a range of talent that came to please patrons at community hall Saturday showcases during the fortnight past.

The Summerside Lions kicked off their annual end-of-winterfest fundraiser last weekend.

Also hopeful for a strong turnout of performers and supporters this weekend, it is putting off its annual adult talent show in advance of the time change, beginning 9 o’clock Friday night at the clubhouse. 

An open invitation to attend has been extended to prospective performers and supportive music fans 19 years of age and older. Players intent on taking a spot onstage can do so by contacting Lions Club talent registration (783-2222).

Representing Western

Bay of Islands fans are watching expectantly for an emerging champion or two from within its ranks this weekend, too, as teams from Curling and Cox’s Cove vie for provincial titles in Division C men’s darts taking place in Marystown.
