Heidi Locke won the gold medal in the Level 2 Argo division at the 2014 Snowbowl Invitational in St. John’s.
A member of the Saltos Gymnastics Club in Corner Brook, Locke claimed top spot with an all-around total of 48.767 in a field of 10 competitive gymnasts from across the province.
Locke managed to rank first in beam and floor exercise, while ranking third in both vault and bars at the Cygnus Gymnastics Training Centre in the capital city over the weekend.
Emma McCarthy of Saltos and Emma Moss of Gracia Gymnastics Club in Deer Lake found themselves tied for top spot in the Level 2 Novice category with an all-around total of 47.584.
Grace Nichols of Gracia finished seventh in Level 2 Novice, while clubmate Kelsie Power claimed eighth spot in a field of nine competitors.
Amy Kennedy of Gracia captured gold in the Level 1 Novice division, while clubmate Emily Smith nabbed second spot and Faith Lidstone of Saltos finished in fifth.
Nicole Wicks of Saltos finished in third place in the Level 3 Open bracket, while Saltos gymnast Anna Barrett snagged third place in the Level 2 Tyro division in a competitive field of 18 gymnasts.
Sarah Flynn of Saltos managed a second-place finish in Level 1 Tyro, while clubmate Tara Young finished in third spot and Gracia’s Alexandria Samms placed eighth overall.
Tessa May of Saltos ranked third in all four of her events, settling for third spot in the Level 4 Tyro bracket.
