The Corner Brook Molson Senior Baseball League season has ended for the Wing’n It Marlins.

The bottom-ranked team was eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday at Jubilee Field at the hands of the top-seeded West Side Monarchs by a score of 4-2.

The win gave the Monarchs a 3-0 triumph in the best-of-five semifinal series.

Travis Taylor and Aaron Sheppard were both 2-for-3 at the plate in the win, with Taylor scoring twice and adding an RBI. Sheppard drove in one run.

Andrew Flood led the way for the Marlins, scoring a run in a 2-for-4 day at the dish. Des Ball was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

The pitching victory went to Kevin Farrell, who went all seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits, with five strikeouts and a walk.

Matt Colbourne suffered the defeat, surrendering four runs off eight hits. He struck out five and gave up no walks in six innings of work.
