Barry throws bombs as Broncos beat Pirates in Corner Brook touch football league play

Ryan Barry chucked five touchdown passes for the Broncos at Wellington Street Sports Complex on Sunday in a 38-12 win over the Pirates in Week 2 action from the Corner Brook Coors Light Touch Football League.

Mike MacPhee and Peter Rose both hauled in two of those scores, with Mark Hillier coming down with the other one.

Hillier also found the end zone thanks to a pick-six, as did Josh Inniss.

MacPhee and Rose also both had an interception and a one-point conversion.

Greg Baldwin sacked Pirates quarterback Marc Best three times, with Cory Jones reaching him twice.

Best had one touchdown pass and a pick, while Mark Gillis came down with the touchdown reception and also scored one on the ground. He threw one pick.

The Broncos then had to tangle with the Gophers and dropped a 24-20 decision.

Steve Hynes threw two scores, but was also picked off three times. Pete MacDonald reeled in both touchdown throws. Greg Myrden scored on a kick return, while also chalking up two picks. Alex Forward took an interception to the house, while Josh Smith recorded a sack.

Barry put up three touchdowns for the Broncos, while throwing two picks. MacPhee had two touchdowns, with Rose scoring the other.

MacPhee also had a one-point conversion and an interception thrown. Barry had a pick on the defensive side of the ball, with Rose taking away two. Jay Burton also had a one-point conversion.

In the final game, Marine Lounge defeated the Raiders 28-6 on the strength of three touchdown passes from Harry Patterson, two of which went to Steve Perry. Rob Wheeler connected on the other one.

Patterson also ran the ball in for a score and threw one pick. Wheeler had a two-point conversion and an interception on defence. Ryan Hawco kicked a one-point conversion. Evan Brake had three sacks.

Nick Roach threw two interceptions and one touchdown, which Pat Fewer came down with. Fewer also had caught one interception.
