Myrden also intercepted Pirates quarterback Greg Whelan twice in the winning cause.

Forward and Grant Vincent both made two-point conversions.

Jeff Hull hauled in both touchdown throws from Whelan in the loss, while also putting up a two-point conversion.

Paul George and Mark Gillis both recorded picks on defence, while Phil Oake had two sacks.

Elsewhere, Harry Patterson threw two touchdowns and Steve Huxter ran in a pick-six as Marine Lounge blasted the Raiders 22-6.

David Alexander and Glen Aucoin came down with the touchdown passes, while Alexander and Huxter each had a two-point conversion.

Aucoin got to the quarterback for three sacks.

Matt Roache threw one touchdown in the loss, to Colin Dunphy, while also coming away with a pick on defence.

In the day’s other game, Ryan Barry had four touchdown passes to four different receivers — Andrew Peckford, Josh Noel, Don Patey and Josh Inniss — as the Broncos beat up on the Falcons 29-0.

Barry kicked three rouges, while Peckford made good on a two-point conversion.

The defenders nearly caught more balls than the receivers in this one, as Peter Rose (2), Mark Hillier, Peckford and Barry all had interceptions. Patey added a pair of sacks.

The only positives for the Falcons in this one was a sack apiece for Cody Pittman and Drew Nadon.
