Bonnell gets upper hand against the big guns on The Tely Tour stop at Blomidon

Matthew Bonnell was one shot better than everybody else on The Tely Junior Golf Tour Wednesday at Blomidon Golf and Country Club.

The Blomidon junior, who is a member of the provincial team heading to Winnipeg for the Canada Summer Games, posted a 74 round Wednesday to take top honours in the junior boys division.
Andrew Bruce of Humber Valley Resort, a Team NL teammate of Bonnell, finished in second spot, one stroke behind with a 75 round under a bright sky Wednesday.
Katie Colbourne of Corner Brook won top honours in the nine-hole bantam girls division with a 53 score, while fellow Blomidon golfer Paige Allen nailed down second spot with a final score of 57.
