An initiative of the Canadian Woodlands Forum, Log a Load for Kids Canada is a national giving campaign through which loggers and other forest industry people donate the value of a load of logs, or any amount, to local Children’s Miracle Network-affiliated hospital foundations and organize related fundraising events. The proceeds from this tournament will go to the Janeway Children’s Hospital.

Last year’s event raised over $34,000 for the Janeway and, to date, approximately $278,000 has been raised.

The 10-team weekend tournament will see Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Woodlands’ staff, contractors and employees, employees of the Department of Natural Resources and friends play for the Log a Load Challenge Cup, which was donated by Northwest Forest Resources Limited.

Play begins 4 p.m. today and wraps up with the final game at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
