Mark Gillis netted the game-winner with just over seven minutes remaining in the second half Thursday night as the Molson Luxury Limo Rangers edged Gros Morne 5-4 in the opening game of the Corner Brook Men’s Ball Hockey League at the Pepsi Centre.

Kyle Wright had a hat trick in the victory, while Greg Whelan also scored.

Brandon Hynes (2), Rodney Dyke and Ben Murphy replied for Gros Morne.

Adam Hicks earned the goaltending win over Roger Snow.

In other action, Marble Zip Tours defeated A.J.’s by a 6-1 count.

Colton Kennedy (2), Ryan Patey, Andrew Smith, Jordan Kennedy and Daniel Smith did the damage offensively for the victors.

Greg Park responded in the losing cause.

Scotty Walsh outdueled Dave King in net.

In the late game, MacAverys eked out a 3-2 shootout win over the Riverdogz.

Josh Skinner scored the shootout winner and added a regulation marker, while Jake Milley had the other goal in the win.

Robbie Green and Mickey Lushman lit the lamp in the loss.
