CORNER BROOK  Kyle Murrin scored both goals as The Tin Man edged Gros Morne 2-1 Sunday night as the regular season came to a close in the Corner Brook men’s ball hockey league.

Kyle Blanchard and David Alexander picked up the assists on both of Murrin’s markers at the Pepsi Centre.

In other action, the Luxury Limos Curling Rangers had to settle for third spot in the standings after a 4-3 shootout loss to Marble Zip, who clinched first place and earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs.

The Rangers needed a win in regulation time in the final game and a Riverdogz loss to secure top spot.

The Riverdogz would have no part of such a scenario, however, as the Riverdogz nailed down second spot with a 6-2 win over A J’s Bar & Billiards.

Andrew Burden and Brandon Porter had two goals apiece for the winners.

Robbie Greene and Dylan Revells also dented the mesh for the winning side.

Greg Park and Glen Staples replied for A J’s.

The playoff round gets underway Tuesday 7 p.m. at the Pepsi Centre.
