Western Warriors nab bronze at Atlantic AAA female midget hockey tournament

Brooklyn Childs scored twice — including an empty-netter — to lead the Western Warriors to a 3-1 win over the Moncton Rockets to claim bronze at the 2017 Atlantic AAA female midget hockey championship.

Rebecca Reid picked up a goal and an assist for the Warriors, who finished with a 1-3 round-robin record.

Olivia Henley and MVP Jolena Gillard had the other goals in support of winning puckstopper Madison Marche who turned in a 28-save performance.

Emma Reid had a hat trick for the Warriors, while Jolena Gillard continued her offensive surge with a two-goal game in a losing cause.
Kaitlyn Coles rounded out the scoring parade for the Warriors, while Brooklyn Childs set up three goals.
