CORNER BROOK  Shelby Pike had it together in her first competitive swim meet of the season.

The Deer Lake Dolphins swimmer won top achiever status in the 15 & Over Girls division at a provincial invitational swim meet held at the Corner Brook Arts and Culture pool over the weekend.

Pike, who is 17, captured first place in all of her events to find herself among the top achievers in a meet that featured over 60 swimmers from a number of clubs from western and central Newfoundland.

Sharing the limelight were Megan Colbourne of the Corner Brook Rapids and Kailey Strickland of the Port aux Basques Piranhas.

Colbourne was the top achiever in the 11-12 girls bracket with fellow Rapids swimmers Rikki LaCour and Haley Greene complete the sweep in the age bracket.

Colbourne was first in all of her events as she continues to create waves on the provincial swim scene.

Strickland, meanwhile, got the nod as the top performer in the 10 & Under girls division.

Strickland’s success included first place in the 50-m backstroke final and 50-m butterfly, while placing second in the 100-m backstroke final.
