Victory didn’t come until the last game of the tournament for the Corner Brook Regional High Titans senior boys basketball team at the Hall of Fame Cup (Elite Eight) tournament in St. John’s.

Jacob Evoy scored 21 points to lead the Titans to an 81-60 triumph over Prince of Wales Collegiate.

In their opening game, the Titans were edged by Waterford Valley 97-91, with Marcus Hughes putting up 22 points to lead the way.

They dropped their second game 89-58 to Gonzaga. Daniel O’Brien’s 16 points led the Titans.

Holy Heart beat Gonzaga 92-65 to claim the title.

In the girls division, Corner Brook High went 0-3.

Their opening game was a tough 90-29 loss to Waterford Valley.

Elyse Adams had 10 points to pace the team.

A 55-21 loss to St. Kevin’s followed. Holley Mackey drained 10 points in the loss.

They wrapped up their tournament schedule with a 48-45 defeat to Gonzaga.

Mackey again led the team with 10 points.

St. Kevin’s earned the championship over Holy Heart 64-57.
