Theft and breaches result in jail sentence for Stephenville's Chad Pitcher

Chad Pitcher, a 30-year-old Stephenville man facing numerous charges relating to thefts and breaching court orders, was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail on Tuesday afternoon.

Appearing in Stephenville Provincial Court before Judge Catherine Allen-Westby of Corner Brook via teleconference, he had a total of 39 charges scheduled, of which all but 13 were dropped.

His latest crimes for which he was taken into custody on Monday included four thefts that took place in Stephenville on Friday and Saturday.

Those included the theft of a donation jar from a bakery, workout supplements from a Pharmasave, a cash bag from a pizza parlour and cheese from a variety store.

He was order to pay restitution to the places he stole from in the amount of goods he stole and a $100 fine for each of the 13 charges for a total of $1,300.
